The japanwoodworker site offers various camelia oil
packages, the least expensive of which is $7.75 (for
100ml). I've used this type of camelia oil on
shakuhachi exteriors and it seems to work well. It
penetrates well and does not turn rancid or polymerize.

In Japan, there are also camelia oil grades used for
coiffure (e.g. sumo rikishi chonmage). It's more
expensive in small quantities than the grades used for
cutting tools, and what I've seen is more viscous, and
water white, rather than light amber.
